Clouds Illusions
By Sara Jane
When I started thinking about clouds the lyrics of a song kept going through my mind.
“It’s clouds illusions I recall, I really don’t know clouds at all”
I went for a walk in the local woods, as is my want and allowed my thoughts to turn to “clouds”.
I love to look at them, their shapes, the sun or moon behind them, their colours, especially at sunrise and sunset.
I allowed my thoughts to go deeper, to clouds being a metaphor for the “difficult” times in our lives.
When our thoughts can be clouded by suggestions and advice from all directions, when we don’t know which way to turn.
The sun is always there, shining for us, the love and wisdom of our heart and soul is always within us, it is about helping ourselves to clear the fog, the clutter.
Worry is a cloud in our lives, it stops us from living our lives, it can really get in the way of fun and laughter, of joy and happiness and growth.
For each of us it is about finding the way that works best for us to clear the clouds.
Gratitude for what you have.
Laughter when disruptive thoughts try to take control.
Confidence in yourself.
Loving yourself.
Believing in Yourself.
Affirmations, meditation, walks in the fresh air (that is where so much inspiration comes to me), exercise, a soak in the bath, silence and so many more ways that may work for you.
We are all beautiful beings but sometimes we allow the clouds in, they can be cleared, a good gust of wind can blow the cobwebs away, free us to live more fully and joyfully.
Not all clouds are thunder clouds, I love to look at the moon and when there is light cloud, on many occasions you can see a beautiful hallo around it.
Sometimes the clouds can help us see things more clearly or see things that we couldn’t if they weren’t there.
Everything comes to us as a gift, even the clouds, after all the plants need sun and rain to grow, so do we.
When we learn to see the gift in an experience, we allow the sun to shine through.
I looked the song up and had to smile at just how relevant the words are to the thoughts that came to me:
“Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell
“Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons every where
Looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It’s cloud’s illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all”
