Moon Shine Your Light on Me

By Sara Jane

As the Sun sets in the West

Darkness falls over the land

A silver slither of light appears in the East

The New Moon ascends over the horizon

The dark of night is broken

The moon and the stars bring light to the Heavens

The nocturnal animals below, are awoken

The Moon starts her monthly dance across the sky

With each moon rise her crescent grows

Her light becomes stronger

The first quarter lights the sky

Growing to the glory of the full moon

Mesmerising paths of light

Across seas and lakes

Moon shadows on the Earth

Moonbows in the rain

A beautiful aura surrounds her

Visible as clouds pass by

Feel her pull

Hear her whispering to you

The dance continues as she begins to wain

The tides on Earth being affected by her energy

Now for the second quarter, still shinning bright

Rising later, still visible after sun rise

Moon shine your light on me

Teach me to rise and grow

To know my full glory

To rest and rise again

You may have seen poems from me in the past. I feel that I am guided to write and sometimes that comes in the form of poetry, granted not rhyming poetry.

I love to look out at the moon each night and also to see the stars, watching the monthly cycles and especially the colours at moonrise.

I hope you enjoy
