Beliefs

By Sara Jane

Beliefs.

Your beliefs. All your beliefs.

Your beliefs about yourself, the people around you, circumstances that have happened in your life and yes, religion.

Where have they all come from?

Are they your choice or from the perspective and understanding of those around you when you were growing up?

Have you ever taken a look at your beliefs, felt into them, to feel if they are right for you?

Are you open to reading further, to possibly challenging some of the things you believe? If so read on.

Let’s take a closer look at some of them:

Suggestion make time to do this, find somewhere quiet that you won’t be disturbed. Also be aware, you may just be challenging your ego mind, it could get a little uncomfortable but that is good.

Use your conscious mind (not your ego mind) to think about you, what you believe about yourself.

Be aware of how you speak to yourself, are they your words or someone else’s?

Have you taken on board what others may have said to you in either anger or frustration, on too many occasion, thinking it must be true?

Do you judge yourself using other people’s opinions of you?

All of these things affect your belief in yourself but they aren’t who you are, the real you is buried under other people’s projection and judgement.

It is time to shed those beliefs about yourself and discover who you are beneath it all.

Food for thought.

You could also take a look back at things that happened when you were younger, especially those that caused hurt, pain, even trauma.

Suggestion, view them from the point of view of looking from the outside in, you don’t have to put your inner child through them again, just be a witness.

Especially be aware of the adults involved and if you can, what was the bigger picture of things going on around the situation.

Can you ask those same adults to share what was going on for them at the time, the circumstances, even rules and regulations that had control.

I am not condoning anything that hurts anyone, especially a child, either physically or emotionally but it can help for us as an adult to know there may have been circumstances outside our parents control.

This I do know and understand having learnt more about my own story, thus I am sharing from my own experience.

The final one I mentioned was religion and I appreciate we are all entitled to our own beliefs.

Personally, things I have read have expanded my beliefs beyond a specific religion, although I was raised a Catholic, now I consider myself Spiritual rather than affiliated to one belief.

We all have choices to do something or nothing, to stay within your existing beliefs about yourself, your life or you can choose to explore new possibilities and expand your horizons.

Be happy within the life you choose, you are allowed to be happy, to experience joy and love and it all starts from within you.

Light, Love & Peace
