I Do it My Way: It’s Time for You to Do it Your Way
By Sara Jane
We are all different and we are meant to be.
What is the point of being born unique, with your own special gifts to share, if you try and become a clone of other people?
We are all wired slightly differently, making our strengths and weaknesses different.
Concentrate on your strengths, on what you enjoy, what brings you pleasure and fulfils you.
I am sure you have heard the term “neurodiverse” but what does it really mean?
For me it is a label used as an all-encompassing label for those diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, on the autism spectrum and more.
A term used for those they can’t fit into the category “normal”, those who don’t conform and follow what is perceived to be normal.
There are also many who have not had a diagnosis, who have just fitted on the periphery of “normal” to fit in.
If you feel you are different, embrace it, it is part of the special person you are here to be.
We are not meant to fit in, we are here to stand out. Here to listen to others and to speak up and out, to be heard, even lead the way.
For many years I have asked the question “what is normal and whose definition is it anyway?”
What is “normal” for each and every one of us, is who we are, how we see things, how we experience the world, how we look at things, how we understand them, how we live our lives.
The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone, is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been. – Albert Einstein.
We are living in a time of great change, a time when more and more of us are stepping away from following the crowd and doing things our own way and yes, I am one of them.
There have been so many times when I have been told how I should be doing things, things that don’t resonate, which feel against my ethics and inauthentic, and I am not about to go against what feels right for me.
Yes, I do things my way, I listen to my heart and I love going with the flow, especially when I am interviewing someone or being interviewed. I trust the Universe and know that what is meant to be will be and it will arrive at the perfect time.
Are you ready to take the leap, to be you and do things your way?
Don’t worry about what others think or say, they are not you and you aren’t them, always be true to yourself.
