Clouds Illusions

Clouds Illusions

By Sara Jane

When I started thinking about clouds the lyrics of a song kept going through my mind.

“It’s clouds illusions I recall, I really don’t know clouds at all”

I went for a walk in the local woods, as is my want and allowed my thoughts to turn to “clouds”.

I love to look at them, their shapes, the sun or moon behind them, their colours, especially at sunrise and sunset.

I allowed my thoughts to go deeper, to clouds being a metaphor for the “difficult” times in our lives.

When our thoughts can be clouded by suggestions and advice from all directions, when we don’t know which way to turn.

The sun is always there, shining for us, the love and wisdom of our heart and soul is always within us, it is about helping ourselves to clear the fog, the clutter.

Worry is a cloud in our lives, it stops us from living our lives, it can really get in the way of fun and laughter, of joy and happiness and growth.

For each of us it is about finding the way that works best for us to clear the clouds.

Gratitude for what you have.

Laughter when disruptive thoughts try to take control.

Confidence in yourself.

Loving yourself.

Believing in Yourself.

Affirmations, meditation, walks in the fresh air (that is where so much inspiration comes to me), exercise, a soak in the bath, silence and so many more ways that may work for you.

We are all beautiful beings but sometimes we allow the clouds in, they can be cleared, a good gust of wind can blow the cobwebs away, free us to live more fully and joyfully.

Not all clouds are thunder clouds, I love to look at the moon and when there is light cloud, on many occasions you can see a beautiful hallo around it.

Sometimes the clouds can help us see things more clearly or see things that we couldn’t if they weren’t there.

Everything comes to us as a gift, even the clouds, after all the plants need sun and rain to grow, so do we.

When we learn to see the gift in an experience, we allow the sun to shine through.

I looked the song up and had to smile at just how relevant the words are to the thoughts that came to me:

“Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell

“Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons every where
Looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all”

What Does Outside Mean to You?

What Does Outside Mean to You?

By Sara Jane

When you think about going outside, I am pretty sure most of you are thinking about leaving the house and going into the garden or the countryside for a walk, or into town, etc.

How about thinking outside the box or going outside of your comfort zone? And how do you do that?

May I suggest you give yourself some time to think about it…

In respect of the box, I suggest you throw it away and broaden your horizons, the only limits in your life are the ones you put there.

Your comfort zone is probably how and where you are living now. It may not be that comfortable but it is familiar and for many of you feels safe.

Are you really living your life, rather than just existing day to day in the same old routine?

When was the last time you did something new, something different, broke your routine?

How uncomfortable does your life need to get for you to risk making a change?

I get it, I really do, I spent too many years in relationships I shouldn’t have been in, doing jobs I hated.

I felt stuck in a rut lined with rose thorns, whilst my 2nd ex (yes, I took the plunge) was in a parallel rut lined with rose petals.

Eventually I took back control of my life after nearly 40 years of being a people pleaser and not knowing who I was.

Was it easy, No. It was very scary and the best thing I ever did for me.

I stepped outside my comfort zone and started to live my life, doing the things I wished to do, regardless of what others thought.

In the last 20 + years, I have moved town, changed careers twice, become self-employed, travelled and had some wonderful experiences, especially being a trainee handler at the UK Wolf Conservation trust (amazing creatures) and being part of an expedition to Romania to track Wolves and Lynx in the Carpathian Mountains through the Scientific Exploration Society with the Carpathian Large Carnivore Project.

Having decided to get out of my own way, I really went for it, making up for all that time of doing what I thought others wanted me to do and being so unhappy.

OK back to the question, how do you go about getting outside your comfort zone?

I have no doubt that there are many different answers, depending on the perspective you are coming from but for me the simplest answer is “Step back into yourself”

For me your comfort zone is outside of you, it isn’t who you truly are.

When you step back into yourself, you start to listen to your heart, your gut instincts, intuition and inspiration, you feel the rightness of what speaks to you.

Taking that first step is scary but it is O so worth it and the sense of freedom, like stepping out on to a beautiful mountainside, being on a boat on the ocean or enjoying the wind blowing through your hair, any sensation that brings you peace and contentment.

“Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone” ~ Neale Donald Walsch

“If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” ~ Jim Rohn

“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” ~ Brian Tracy

A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there ~ John Assaraf

Live Large: The Cameras are Flashing

Live Large: The Cameras are Flashing

By Sara Jane

Are you living large or acting small?

Are you the leading lady or man in your own life or playing a supporting role?

I spent so many years playing a bit part in my own life. Hard to believe now, I know but so very true.

Cameras are great for catching a moment in time, a birth, christening, engagement, graduation, marriage and so much more.

When was the last time you took a good look at old photos of yourself; I mean a really good look? Not just at the clothes and hairstyles but at your expression, the look in your eyes, were you truly happy?

My parents very sweetly gave an album of my life for my 50th, all I could see for many of my early years, was an unhappy child that rarely smiled. Bringing home just how much the traumas of my first 2 years had affected me.

I know what it is like to live small, it is very uncomfortable and can be very debilitating, always worrying about what others think about you, how you are being judged.

It is time to step out from behind the camera and be the lead in your own life.

Is there anything you would like to do, something you would like to learn, somewhere you would like to go?

By all means start small, or not, you could just take the bull by the horns and go large; what is speaking to you.

Pictures reveal more than you think, the camera can pick up more than the eye can see, whether in your life or in nature.

This is a picture taken by my Mother at St Nectans Waterfall in Cornwall.

For years, probably since my teens, I have taken photos, especially of waterfalls and thought they had been spoiled by splashes of water on the lens. Now I know better, my cameras have always picked up Orbs.

What are the photos of your life telling you about your life and what changes would you like to make to Live Large for those Flashing Cameras?

Project or Project

Project or Project

By Sara Jane

When I saw the word “project”, I immediately had one meaning in mind and then realised there was another. The same word said slightly differently with 2 meanings (As below from the Reader’s Digest Illustrated Dictionary).

Project: A plan or proposal – An undertaking requiring concentrated effort – A research undertaking

Or

Project: To thrust outward or forward – To throw forwards, hurl, impel

Which was your first thought?

Are you working on a project at the moment or are you learning to project your voice?

If you are working on a project, especially in a group, it is important for you all to be able to share your thoughts and suggestions, to project & interject.

The most important project in anyone’s life is themselves. To learn and unlearn, to experience and grow, to feel.

To love yourself, have faith, belief and trust in yourself.

To take care of you, to listen to your heart, your gut instincts, your intuition and inspiration.

Learn to stand up for yourself and do what feels right for you, what speaks to you.

Speak your truth, listen to others, be open to alternative view points and always go with what feels right for you.

Projecting your voice to be heard doesn’t have to be about raising your voice, so much as the feeling you put into it.

Sometimes being softly but firmly spoken can get a point across better than anger.

Whatever is happening in your life at the moment, do you feel in control?

If not, why not?

Is it time to call a halt, to step back, talk to all those involved and listen to how everyone feels, their thoughts and share your thoughts and feelings.

Be prepared to take the lead, encourage change, support, leave, be true to you and you will give permission to everyone else to be true to themselves.

As one member of a group or family finds their voice, the rest start to feel more comfortable to use theirs.

So is it time for a new project, one that supports you to project your voice, thoughts and feelings, supporting you to follow your path to live your life’s journey in the way that feels right for you.

Healing from Within ~ Listening to Yourself

Healing from Within ~ Listening to Yourself

By Sara Jane

Recently I had an experience/awareness that has helped me heal an aspect of my younger self.

I was walking through some local woodland when I started thinking about the theme of a video share I was doing with Enolia (Today’s Conversation, a mini-series we are doing together) a little later that day. Yes, the same Enolia that is joining us here on The Magic Happens as one of the Authors.

I was thinking about the trauma I experienced as a very young child, both physical & emotional, and was I affected by PTSD?

One of the symptoms of PTSD, to my knowledge, is nightmares, so I started thinking about dreams and the truth is I don’t dream or at least I never remember my dreams.

I started thinking more deeply about this and wondered whether I had managed to switch off dreaming, after all I was only a year old when all that happened and reliving the scalding and time in hospital, with no way of asking for help, would only have added to the trauma.

Then I started thinking about my “wake-up call”, my jaw was broken by a dentist whilst extracting a wisdom tooth and I didn’t know it was broken for a week.

That had left me with 6 months of pain & sleepless nights and when I did sleep I had to wake up to turn over.

This flow of thought opened up a lot more, I’d never slept well and still don’t, so was the waking up every couple of hours or so the way I stopped myself from dreaming?

Was I afraid of dreaming without realising it? Wow for over 60 years.

I decided to connect with my 36/37-year-old me and ask me how I felt at the time of the broken jaw. What feelings had come up for me?

The baby me had been in pain around her face and neck, she was put in hospital for 3 months with a visit from her parents once a week for an hour (all due to circumstances not a lack of love, that’s another story).

I was also in pain in my face and head, no one had listened to me when I said something wasn’t right and even after the x-rays showed a broken jaw, there wasn’t much in the way of apologies.

When I came out of hospital after the operation, my husband warmed me some soup that night and then from the following morning just expected me to be OK.

What I didn’t realise at the time was that all the old feelings from my early childhood had just come right back to the fore, awakened by the current situation.

I think a “wake-up call” is a great name for it.

Whilst I was walking in the woods I listened to my younger self, I opened to her feelings and let her know just how much I loved her and was there for her. I have also spent time with her since and know she is feeling so much better.

Your younger self, isn’t just about our Inner Child, it is us of any age and any experiences that are not fully resolved.

I share this experience with you, with the hope it will help you along your own healing journey.

A brilliant quote I came across recently, explains this beautifully

“As traumatised children we always dreamed that someone would come and save us. We never dreamed that it would in fact, be ourselves as adults.” ~ Alice Little

Love the Elixir of Life

Love the Elixir of Life

By Sara Jane

What is an Elixir?

It is a medicinal potion or aromatic preparation thought to have generalised curative or restorative properties.

The word elixir was not used until the 7th century A.D. and derives from the Arabic name for miracle substance, “al iksir”.

The main ingredient of an elixir is water (mineral water or spring water preferably).

For those of you aware of Dr. Masaru Emoto, you will know that he studied the effects of human consciousness on the molecular structure of water.

Very simply put, water can hold the energy of its surroundings and what is put into it, thus Crystal Elixirs made by putting a crystal in or near water (some crystals are toxic and others friable so should never be put directly into the water).

Also, Flower essences and you can put different energies such as a Homoeopathic Remedy into water by creating a circle on a clean piece of paper, writing the name of the remedy & strength in the circle and then placing the glass of water over it.

This also works by using words such as Love, Healing, Energy and more (keep the words positive).

How you are feeling can also affect the water you drink, as you hold the glass or bottle in your hand.

On average our body is 60% water, with our skin being 64%, our muscles & kidneys 79% and our brain & heart 73%.

Think about that for a minute, if water is that susceptible to the energy in and around it, what affects do our thoughts and feelings have on our body.

What do you think about, what energies are flowing around your body?

Love is the greatest healer, the more love you feel for yourself, the more the Elixir of Love flows around your body, helping to heal and restore it.

The picture was taken by my mother at St. Nectans Glen in Cornwall, Orbs seem to be attracted to water, maybe that is also why they are attracted to people – food for thought.

A Scintilla of Hope

A Scintilla of Hope

By Sara Jane

Meaning ~ Scintilla - A Minute amount, a tiny trace or spark of a specified quality or feeling. E.g. "a scintilla of doubt"

I have to admit to having to look up the meaning of this word, I have certainly heard of scintillation and scintillating but never scintilla.

I am someone who has been on a “Bad News” diet for years, I don’t watch or listen to the news – unless I’m in a car and it comes on while I am listening to the radio – and I don’t read newspapers.

But I always seem to know what is happening, especially with all the fires last year in the USA & Brazil and now in Australia, the Eruption in New Zealand and now the Earthquakes in Puerto Rico.

Droughts and floods, soring temperatures and ice caps melting. Animals on the verge of extinction. Our Oceans poisoned with plastic, oil spills and other pollutants.

That is just the tip of the iceberg but there is still a scintilla of hope, a tiny glimmer.

A little flame that won’t die, that keeps many of us holding on and doing our bit to help preserve and protect animals and wildlife habitat.

Yes, I am one of them and for the past few years a friend has adopted an animal for me through WWF as a Christmas present, I have quite a collection and will keep adding to it. I hope you like the picture of them I have shared.

I love our beautiful Planet, Gaia, Mother Earth, Pachamama and I hold hope in my heart, in my mind, my thoughts that we are in a time of great change.

She is alive, she breathes, she needs to move and stretch from time to time.

She loves us and feeds us.

All we have to do is look around, see the stories of the people who are helping save the Koalas, Kangaroos and more from the fires.

The rescues of baby Elephants stuck in holes, animals caught in traps or in raging waters. The beautiful souls who give water to thirsty animals.

The Countries that are planting millions of trees, banning the use of animals in circuses, working to clean water, soil and air.

All those amazing inventors who are making shoes from used coffee beans, leather from pineapple and other leaves, finding uses for plastics, including road surfaces.

Hold on to that scintilla of Hope for us all and for our beautiful Mother Earth, we can all come through this together.

Being a Channel for Sound Energy and More

Being a Channel for Sound Energy and More

By Sara Jane

Are you a channel?

Would you like to be a channel?

Could you already be on your journey of being a channel without realising it?

This is my story, the story of how I became/discovered I am a channel.

In 2002 I was looking for something that I could do to help and support me; I wasn’t looking for others to help heal me, somehow, I understood that I was the only one that could do that.

I heard about Reiki, that the first person you treat when you learn, is yourself – that was what I was looking for.

During the training – Level I – my Master taught us how to open the channel to the Ki energy and offer it to ourselves and others.

I understand now that that was the first day I became an active and an aware channel.

Elaine, my Reiki Master, also introduced me to Sound Energy in the form of Toning (the use of the voice but not singing), I fell in love with it, I found it so powerful.

Although it hadn’t been my intention (the Universe had other ideas), I went on to do my Reiki II, Masters and learnt to teacher, with every step increasing my ability to channel.

The Sound Energy also grew within me and one evening when I shared it, a very wise lady of my acquaintance, Willow a Shaman, said that the Sounds I shared were channelled, they weren’t actually me.

This made so much sense, it explained why the sounds had been likened to Singing Bowls, how the pitches could have such a range from very low to very high, also why the energies could feel so different.

In late 2009 I was trying to research why Dragons and many other Mythical Beings may connect with us in Meditation or thought.

After all, if particular Angels, Animals and others come to you, you can look up what that may mean – a message.

Nothing, I couldn’t find anything anywhere and I was thinking about it one day whilst I was driving and suddenly the words were in my head “You’re doing it”

I am not one of these people who sees things, hears things, I just get a sense of knowing and very occasionally words pop into my head very clearly and concise.

Yes, I went through the why me? And always follow it very quickly with Why not me?

I had bought a couple of books about Mythical Beings whilst doing my previous research, so I sat with pen and paper and would read about one of these friends.

Usually a single word in their “description/information” would spark a message that I would then write down.

57 Mythical Beings shared through me, including the Dragons who shared that we all have a Guardian Dragon and the Werewolf, who told me we have all been given our own Guardian Wolf and we are one with our wolf.

All the Mythical Beings are friends, in their own unique way and I was asked not to share their myths and legends, as so many of them had been distorted to create fear. I continue to honour this and have connect with more since.

If you read my column, you will be aware that I also channel from the Dragons that guard over Earth’s crystals and in 2017 I realised I am working with the Sound Dragons.

Going back to the Sound Energy, once this started to develop, I became aware that I am mainly working with Gaia Mother Earth, Mother Mary, St. Germain & Archangel Uriel, which makes so much sense to me because I help people to re-connect with their inner child, especially the trauma and pain aspects.

Then in 2018 I discovered I channel in what I believe is our Soul Language.

As with the Toning, I just open my mouth and the words flow, I have no idea what they mean but I know from those who have experienced it, that they “feel” the message, it is understood by their Heart & Soul, our minds can’t translate it and therefore cannot misinterpret the message.

I hope that sharing my story, my journey of trust, the gifts, the wisdom, the sounds that come through me, helps and inspires you on your journey.

Love, Peace & Light Sweet Soul

Fun in the Cold

Fun in the Cold

By Sara Jane

I am sure most of us are aware of the saying “Fun in the Sun”.

Just because the weather is getting colder here in the Northern hemisphere doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.

This article isn’t about the words that are written, it’s more about the memories it awakens and encouraging you and your family to make more.

Cast your mind back and connect with your inner child, think of all the fun things you used to get up to.

Kicking and crunching through the fallen leaves, jumping in muddy puddles, snowball fights, making snowmen and snow angels.

What else do you remember doing, fun and laughter with siblings and/or friends?

Bonfire night, all gathered around a fire, fireworks going off then back to someone’s home for hot chocolate, hot potatoes, grilled sausages and more.

Gathered around a fire, toasting crumpets, mallows and toast, dripping butter everywhere.

Cold, crisp mornings, watching your breath as you walk to school or work.

Clear, cold starry winter nights, wrapped in hats, mittens and scarves.

Sat in front of a roaring log fire, playing games, or curled up in bed under a lovely warm duvet.

Pleasure can be found in so many things when we open our minds and let memories flood in.

Chill winds blow

Stormy skies

Shorter days

Longer nights

As Winter takes its hold

Trees adorned in golds, rusts and reds

Teaching us the glory of letting go

As their leaves fall to the ground

Winter slumber

Birds fly South

Squirrels gathering nuts

Hedgehogs, Bees and more hibernate

A time of rest and re-charging

Frost covering the rooves and ground in white

Steaming as it melts in the morning sun

Ice forms on birdbaths

Hungry birds squabble to feed on the feeders

Snow falls blanketing the world in white

Children laugh and play

Tin trays are used as toboggans

Snowball fights and making snowmen

Cold hands and feet

Warmed by an open fire

Rosy cheeks from cold fresh air

Childhood memories

When was the last time you made memories?

When was the last time you shared your childhood memories with your family?

This is the perfect time of year with the colder shorter evenings to sit with your family and share, plus make more.

First ~ Winner ~ Leader

First ~ Winner ~ Leader

By Sara Jane

What does the word First mean to you?

Is it being first, taking the first step, your first breath, the first time you did anything?

What does Winner mean to you?

Is it the person who won the competition, the prize, the most votes or is it just about achieving?

What does being a Leader mean to you?

Is it the person at the front, the person who gives orders, the person who takes control?

There may be other things that you can think of for each of these.

How about being the first to step forward to assist a person or animal who is struggling.

The first in your family or group of friends, who learns to say NO, that’s not for me, rather than going along with things that aren’t comfortable to you.

The first to stand up and say I don’t agree with you.

The first to share your story in a group.

The First to put yourself first, to take care of yourself so that you can be there for others.

First is so much more than Winning.

What is a winner? Is it really the person or group that comes first?

You are a winner.

Recently I heard Bo Eason share about this and I loved the way he put it.

“We are all winners, that is how we are here.

The sperm that was first to the egg, which created the embryo, which grew into us.”

We made it into the world, we have a roof over our heads, food on our table, clothes on our backs.

We can choose, we have choices.

The job you are in, how many people applied for it, yet you got it.

Your relationships and friendships and so much more.

Think about some of the reality TV programs like X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, it is not always the winner that goes on to achieve most.

Look at what some of them have achieved, Susan Boyle came second, so did Olly Murs. Stacey Solomon came 3rd & Rylan Clark came 5th, yet their lives have changed and they are all winners.

Leaders, who do you consider to be a true leader?

Is it always the person at the front?

Is it the person who gives orders or leads by example?

In outdoor trekking, it is likely to be the person who leads from behind, the person who makes sure everyone is OK and safe.

To me a true leader is someone who leads by example, who helps others to grow, to become the best they can be and then go on to help others to achieve.

Leaders create leaders who create leaders.

By being first in your life, by considering yourself, your growth, sharing your gifts, you can help and support more fully those around you, creating winners and leaders.
