Fun in the Cold

Fun in the Cold

By Sara Jane

I am sure most of us are aware of the saying “Fun in the Sun”.

Just because the weather is getting colder here in the Northern hemisphere doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.

This article isn’t about the words that are written, it’s more about the memories it awakens and encouraging you and your family to make more.

Cast your mind back and connect with your inner child, think of all the fun things you used to get up to.

Kicking and crunching through the fallen leaves, jumping in muddy puddles, snowball fights, making snowmen and snow angels.

What else do you remember doing, fun and laughter with siblings and/or friends?

Bonfire night, all gathered around a fire, fireworks going off then back to someone’s home for hot chocolate, hot potatoes, grilled sausages and more.

Gathered around a fire, toasting crumpets, mallows and toast, dripping butter everywhere.

Cold, crisp mornings, watching your breath as you walk to school or work.

Clear, cold starry winter nights, wrapped in hats, mittens and scarves.

Sat in front of a roaring log fire, playing games, or curled up in bed under a lovely warm duvet.

Pleasure can be found in so many things when we open our minds and let memories flood in.

Chill winds blow

Stormy skies

Shorter days

Longer nights

As Winter takes its hold

Trees adorned in golds, rusts and reds

Teaching us the glory of letting go

As their leaves fall to the ground

Winter slumber

Birds fly South

Squirrels gathering nuts

Hedgehogs, Bees and more hibernate

A time of rest and re-charging

Frost covering the rooves and ground in white

Steaming as it melts in the morning sun

Ice forms on birdbaths

Hungry birds squabble to feed on the feeders

Snow falls blanketing the world in white

Children laugh and play

Tin trays are used as toboggans

Snowball fights and making snowmen

Cold hands and feet

Warmed by an open fire

Rosy cheeks from cold fresh air

Childhood memories

When was the last time you made memories?

When was the last time you shared your childhood memories with your family?

This is the perfect time of year with the colder shorter evenings to sit with your family and share, plus make more.

Moon Shine Your Light on Me

Moon Shine Your Light on Me

By Sara Jane

As the Sun sets in the West

Darkness falls over the land

A silver slither of light appears in the East

The New Moon ascends over the horizon

The dark of night is broken

The moon and the stars bring light to the Heavens

The nocturnal animals below, are awoken

The Moon starts her monthly dance across the sky

With each moon rise her crescent grows

Her light becomes stronger

The first quarter lights the sky

Growing to the glory of the full moon

Mesmerising paths of light

Across seas and lakes

Moon shadows on the Earth

Moonbows in the rain

A beautiful aura surrounds her

Visible as clouds pass by

Feel her pull

Hear her whispering to you

The dance continues as she begins to wain

The tides on Earth being affected by her energy

Now for the second quarter, still shinning bright

Rising later, still visible after sun rise

Moon shine your light on me

Teach me to rise and grow

To know my full glory

To rest and rise again

You may have seen poems from me in the past. I feel that I am guided to write and sometimes that comes in the form of poetry, granted not rhyming poetry.

I love to look out at the moon each night and also to see the stars, watching the monthly cycles and especially the colours at moonrise.

I hope you enjoy

First ~ Winner ~ Leader

First ~ Winner ~ Leader

By Sara Jane

What does the word First mean to you?

Is it being first, taking the first step, your first breath, the first time you did anything?

What does Winner mean to you?

Is it the person who won the competition, the prize, the most votes or is it just about achieving?

What does being a Leader mean to you?

Is it the person at the front, the person who gives orders, the person who takes control?

There may be other things that you can think of for each of these.

How about being the first to step forward to assist a person or animal who is struggling.

The first in your family or group of friends, who learns to say NO, that’s not for me, rather than going along with things that aren’t comfortable to you.

The first to stand up and say I don’t agree with you.

The first to share your story in a group.

The First to put yourself first, to take care of yourself so that you can be there for others.

First is so much more than Winning.

What is a winner? Is it really the person or group that comes first?

You are a winner.

Recently I heard Bo Eason share about this and I loved the way he put it.

“We are all winners, that is how we are here.

The sperm that was first to the egg, which created the embryo, which grew into us.”

We made it into the world, we have a roof over our heads, food on our table, clothes on our backs.

We can choose, we have choices.

The job you are in, how many people applied for it, yet you got it.

Your relationships and friendships and so much more.

Think about some of the reality TV programs like X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, it is not always the winner that goes on to achieve most.

Look at what some of them have achieved, Susan Boyle came second, so did Olly Murs. Stacey Solomon came 3rd & Rylan Clark came 5th, yet their lives have changed and they are all winners.

Leaders, who do you consider to be a true leader?

Is it always the person at the front?

Is it the person who gives orders or leads by example?

In outdoor trekking, it is likely to be the person who leads from behind, the person who makes sure everyone is OK and safe.

To me a true leader is someone who leads by example, who helps others to grow, to become the best they can be and then go on to help others to achieve.

Leaders create leaders who create leaders.

By being first in your life, by considering yourself, your growth, sharing your gifts, you can help and support more fully those around you, creating winners and leaders.

Quintessentially You

Quintessentially You: Find your Sparkle & Bounce

By Sara Jane

I thought I knew the meaning of quintessential but decided to look it up to be sure.

Quintessential meaning

  • Being most typical: expressing the essence of the thing or person specified.
  • Having the nature of a quintessence; the pure, highly concentrated essence of something

as per The Reader’s Digest Great Illustrated Dictionary, published & copyrighted 1984

How true are you to yourself, to your choices, to your beliefs?

Do you know who you are?

Do you know what you believe?

Do you feel free to make your own choices?

Give yourself permission to explore what you have been taught, the rules and regulations.

Does it all resonate with you, does everything you have been taught feel right for you?

I know from my own experience that not everything I was taught feels right for me.

The main part of that being religion, I was raised a Catholic but when I read that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, I felt the truth of that in the depths of my being.

When I read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch, there were many times that the answer I read was what I felt in the core of my being.

As we let go of what doesn’t serve us any more, when we allow ourselves to make up our own minds of what we feel is the “truth” to us; we free ourselves to shine in our full glory, it can put a real bounce in your step; you are no longer weighed down by heavy feelings that don’t resonate with you.

When we open to our own truth’s our lives become more fulfilled and we find that we become less judgemental and more relaxed.

Become quintessentially you, the true you, not the person that people and circumstances have formed you to be; break free of those boundaries and restrictions, free yourself to have your own thoughts, feel the truth speak to you from within.

Let yourself step into the sunlight and the beautiful crystal that you are sparkle, reflecting all the colours of the rainbow, empowering and re-energising your Chakras, strengthening your being.

Life is for living, for fun and laughter, it’s time to put the bounce back into your life, bring your childlike energies back into your life.

Think about the little you, children seem to bounce along, in the way they walk and run, and how they move from one experience to the next.

They sparkle and shine, enthralled by so much that they see, allow this true essence of yourself back into your life, reacquaint yourself with the wonders of being a child, for he/she still resides in you and is just waiting for you to invite them into your life.

“You have a responsibility to show up in life expressing your values, not someone else’s values.” ~ Bruce Van Horn

With Ease

With Ease

By Sara Jane

“All of life comes to me with Ease and Joy and Glory”

I am sure I first heard this or something like it, to do with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

I love affirmations and use them daily, so I have taken this and added “I accept with Love and Gratitude. Thank you I am Blessed”

It is up to each of us how easy or difficult we choose to make our lives.

I was watching “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them yesterday (the day before writing this) and the character Newt says along the lines of “I don’t worry, why suffer twice”

Take a moment and think about that, we worry about what may happen, if it doesn’t we have suffered needlessly and if it does we suffer twice – it made so much sense to me.

By worrying we actually make our lives harder and take away from ourselves time we could have been enjoying ourselves, fun and laughter.

The Law of Attraction, what we concentrate on is what we draw more of to us.

What are you concentrating on? What are you drawing into your life with your thoughts?

What would you like more of in your life?

For more of the stuff we would like, we have to let go of other stuff.

As I said I love Affirmations and I have created another which I use in conjunction with

“All of life comes to me with Ease and Joy and Glory. I accept with Love and Gratitude. Thank you I am Blessed”

And sometimes I will use this first

“I release with Love and Gratitude all that has served its purpose in my life, making way for all that is flowing to me Now. Thank you I am Blessed”

Life is a lot of comings and goings, people, places, things come into our life and they leave again.

Are you holding on to a person, job, place, thing?

Is it time to let it go?

Is it time to free it to make its own choice?

Speak up, be honest about your feelings, your hopes, your dreams; let the Universe know what your choices are and take action to support the flow of new into your life.

By all means ease yourself into any changes you make.

Affirmations have certainly helped me to adjust my thinking, to have a greater belief in myself.

Open your mind, your eyes and your ears to the wisdom that surrounds you in so many different ways and life will flow with the ease of a river as it travels from its source to the sea.

There may be a few detours, twists and turns, blockages along the way, you will cope with these with far greater ease when you trust in yourself and the proses of life.

Time to Forget

Time to Forget

By Sara Jane

Give yourself time to forget

To just live in the Now

Allow yourself time to stop

To just be still

Listen to the sounds of silence

The sound of your own Heart beating

The sounds of Nature

Hear the music that surrounds you

Let yourself Feel

Feel the warmth of the sun

The caress of the breeze

The kiss of the rain

Open your Eyes

See the beauty and colour that surrounds you

The beautiful palette of Nature

From the sky to the earth and everything in between

Time to be with you

The whole of you

The you of all ages

The you with no worries or cares.

Time to break down the barriers you have hidden behind

Time to forget who others have told you, you are

Time to get to know you

To re-connect with yourself

Let yourself meet you

Get to know you

Learn to love you

To trust and respect you

You are a beautiful being

An amazing creation

A gift to the world

Be true to you

Give yourself permission to have me-time

Time to explore who you are

Time for fun and laughter

Time to leave the everyday behind for a while

Create a new reality for yourself

A reality of love & peace

Of trust and respect

Of fun and laughter

A reality in which you let go of judgement

You find the positive in all situations

You honour yourself and your journey

You honour others and their journey

Paths may cross

Some will walk with you for a while

Others may, for a lifetime

And others still, a passing smile or nod

Let yourself live your life

Follow your own path

Experience your own journey

This roller-coaster we call life

Give yourself permission to forget what has served its purpose

Remembering the lessons and gifts that each brings you

You are Special

Believe it

Humour ~ The Springboard to Your Soul

Humour ~ The Springboard to Your Soul

By Sara Jane

Humour, laughter, fun, joy, happiness – How do you feel when you experience these?

Do you feel connected?

Sadness, sorrow, anger, hurt, pain, annoyance, stress – How do you feel when you experience these?

How connected do you feel to anything when you experience these?

A sense of humour, fun and laughter are meant to be the largest part of what we experience here.

Even in times of bereavement, when you look back at things that happened with that person, you find fun and laughter, and it helps you to feel more connected to them.

When you find the joy, the happiness in the people you are with, the things you do, the places you go, when things feel “good”, when you feel yourself smiling and laughing, you are connecting with it and with your Soul.

Love and laughter live in harmony together, they are connected, they bring light into your life.

Your Soul, your true essence is Love and your Soul, your Spirit has a sense of humour.

Your Angels, guides and guardians all have a sense of humour, life has a sense of humour.

Connecting with that humour brings us closer to our true self, it helps us deepen our connection with our Soul. It supports us through the tough times and helps bring us back to ourselves.

I suggest giving yourself time to think about the questions I asked at the beginning. Allowing yourself to feel the energies that each brings up for you.

We all have choices, we can choose our mood – what are you choosing today?

Are you experiencing life the way you would really like to?

If not, you can choose to change things, just by adding some humour into your life and connecting more deeply with your Soul.

Allow yourself to reconnect with your child within, to the days and times of fun, freedom and frolics and bring these energies back into your day today living.

“He who lives in harmony with himself, lives in harmony with the world”

“Life is a mirror. Smile at it and it will smile back at you” ~ Peace Pilgrim

“Mind is not a dustbin to keep anger, hatred & jealousy. But it is the treasure box to keep Love, Happiness and sweet memories” ~ Buddha Quotes

A Dream Hidden in a Puzzle

A Dream Hidden in a Puzzle:

That’s Life

By Sara Jane

Your Soul dreams of experiencing so many different things, after all, all it knows is love.

Your Soul chooses experiences and your special gift for this life time and hides them in pieces scattered throughout your life, like a jigsaw puzzle.

Like a jigsaw puzzle, these many different pieces all slot together.

Every experience, every laugh, very tear is a piece of the puzzle.

No experience is too small or insignificant to be a part of the overall picture of your life.

We have no idea what our life holds for us, the intricate twists and turns that our Soul has dreamed up for us.

I found this quote at the time of writing this:

“What is a Dream? A Dream is a wish your Heart makes when you are asleep”

Our dreams are one of the ways our heart & soul communicate with us, guiding us to the next experience, helping us to find the next piece of the puzzle.

We have choices, we can step forward to have these experiences, find the pieces that help us to create the big picture of our life, helping us to complete this journey.

There will be periods of rest, of stillness, they are all pieces of the puzzle, of learning to be with ourselves; to love ourselves, taking care of ourselves.

Times of letting go, times of welcoming in the new, times of loss and times of renewal, times of the unexpected.

It is for each of us to choose whether we embrace the challenge of gathering the pieces, which can come in any order.

Knowing that we may have to store some until the pieces that connect them appear to help create the bigger picture.

Think about your life so far, have you had experiences, jobs, training that you found to be more relevant in later years.

I know a lot of my previous work life experiences are proving very helpful with my change in career, now that I feel I am following my path.

So was I always following my path, making sure I had the pieces of the puzzle I required to support me with what I now do, who I am.

Nothing is ever a waste, it all has a purpose, even if we don’t see it at the time.

Trust your Soul, its dream for this life and you will find all the pieces come together to complete the beautiful picture that is your life.

Inspiration Daily

Inspiration Daily

By Sara Jane

I would like to share a suggestion with you.

When you are on social media, do you see many quotes and inspirational thoughts?

I know I do and my favourite ones I have started writing into a book – yes, I am handwriting them.

One I found today (the day I am writing this article) “Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you” ~ Katie Reed

Another of my favourites is “A smile is a crooked line that sets everything straight” ~ Phyllis Diller

My suggestion is this, every day for the next year find an inspirational quote that speaks to you and write it down, in a book, on a card or on a piece of paper and put it in a jar.

Find quotes that make you smile, inspire you, help you feel better about yourself and if you find yourself feeling a little low, go to the book, the cards, the jar and pick some out to help you raise your vibration.

Many of my ideas for my Thoughtful Nuggets & Pearls shares on Gift of Healing TV have come from the quotes I find and I use them in these inspirational shares.

If you would like to checkout some of these shares you will find them here: http://www.giftofhealingtv.com/nuggets-pearls/  enjoy.

Here are a few more for you that you may like to add to your collection:

“There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk” ~ Guy Gavriel Kay

“Allow your tears to clean the windows of your Soul” ~ Dragon Wisdom

The Sweet Success of Rage

The Sweet Success of Rage

By Sara Jane

The definition of Rage according to “The Readers Digest Illustrated Dictionary”

“1.a. Extreme, vehement anger; fury b. a fit of anger – 2. Furious intensity, as of a storm or disease – 3. Burning desire or passion – 4. Informal A fade, a craze, very fashionable”

The rage I am referring to is anger.

Are you easily angered, or do you bottle up all those things that annoy you until you explode in a storm of rage?

I used to be the latter, I would bottle everything up and then the tiniest little thing would pop the cork and it was not a pretty sight.

It was a very rare occurrence but when it happened it was like a volcanic eruption and left me feeling totally drained.

I’m not proud of this, it was just a fact about me because back then I was so insecure, all I wanted to do was please people with the hope that folks would like me.

Saying No, doing something different, going against what others wanted, was not an option for fear of rejection.

Once I started, what I refer to as my “Healing Journey”, I came to realise just how destructive this bottling up was.

I also realised that all my thoughts about what people thought about me, well let’s just put it this way, most of the time they probably weren’t thinking about me because they had so much going on in their own lives.

This thought was actually a huge relief and I also came to understand that, if they were thinking about me, it didn’t matter anyway and what they were thinking was nothing to do with me.

I also realised that if something annoyed me, it was up to me to do something about it, not bottle it and if I could, “change” it and if I couldn’t do that, then I had other choices, I didn’t have to put up with it.

I started to realise that if something makes you angry, do something about it, let it out.

When you release it, it frees you, when you bottle it, it controls you.

I learnt to speak my mind, as kindly as possible but I learnt to honour myself and by letting go of the feelings of annoyance, anger & rage, I became more relaxed, calmer, happier (you could put so many different words here).

The success of expressing your anger and therefore letting it go, is freedom and a much happier you.
